Creating a new blog

So, blogging, hm? That's supposedly the new cool thing in 2024 – at least according to social media.

Well, the thing is, I have entertained the idea of having a more personal blog for some weeks now. And today I just went for it.

Hi, I am Jannis 👋. A university drop-out who accidentally ended up as a web developer. How? Well, that's a story for another time.

I work full-time at a small web development agency in northern Germany, while I live in the beautiful Salzkammergut in Austria. But aside from that, I am quite entrepreneurial.

Since the age of 18 I have always had side businesses running. Most of them weren't successful. In fact, my current side business is the only one that is successful: Magic Pages is a Ghost CMS hosting service, focussed on making Ghost publications as accessible as possible for people.

What will you see on this blog?

I want this new blog to be a sort of creative outlet. A place where I can share thoughts and ideas that might not fit the format of social media.

It will be a collection of insights that I have on my entrepreneurial journey, while building Magic Pages.

So, if you're as curious as I am and want to read more about my ramblings, subscribe to the built-in newsletter of this blog or follow me on Threads or the Fediverse.
